It wasn't all fun and games today, We collected permission slips for traveling with the team. I know it seems a long way away, but we want to be completely organized heading into the competitive season. Ms. Stobber also attended our meeting and clarified the Activity Code and Forensics Fees. Please see her or Ms. Dummer if you have any further questions. Team meeting was held in the library where students were reminded to check with Mrs. Dummer about eligibility (code and activity fee).
We played a Whodunnit? ice breaker where teams of students had to guess which coach fit each description. The winning team correctly identified the coach in 9 of the 13 statements. Coaches were assigned to categories/students for the first rotation. In addition to team meetings, students need to set up practice times with coaches each week. If you missed the team meeting, please check in with the following coaches: Koszarek - farrago, play, storytelling Hepworth -extemp, prose, solo acting Backhaus - poetry, pub ad, spec oc Tolbert - oratory, 4-min Sr. K - radio, moments Finally, permission slips for the season were distributed. Please remember to have parents sign and return. We brought the veteran crew together with the newbies in a fantastic gathering in the library this week. Can you guess how many attended? Based on the unofficial count (those who electronically signed themselves into the meeting), we had _________ present. The first person on the team to guess correctly (or closest without going over) by our next meeting will win a prize. Post your guess in the comments below.
If you were unable to attend this week, we tried to place each person into a viable category for their interests, talents, or abilities. Please see Mrs. Koszarek or Mr. Hepworth prior to Wednesday afternoon if you are still undecided about a category. We will most likely be breaking into smaller groups on Wednesday. Finally, we reviewed the process to be a part of the team. Activity fees must be submitted to Mrs. Dummer and a WUHS Code of Conduct must be on file. Please take care of these as soon as possible. In case you missed it, students were invited to attend an informational meeting about joining the forensics team on Monday 10/26/15. Here is what you missed. Informational Group Presentation Don't worry. It isn't too late. If interested, come talk to Mrs. Koszarek or Mr. Hepworth. We would be happy to find a place for you on the team. |
